Yoga with Amanda Lambert from Strong Minds

Jan. 14

Local youth aged 13-18 will enjoy this virtual yoga class taught by Amanda Lambert from Strong Minds and held by The Northern Outlet. This class is suitable for beginners and anyone looking for ways to stay active during this period of lockdown. Participants will need a mat or towel and a quiet space to follow along with the class. The yoga class will be held on Zoom on Friday, Jan. 14 from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Registration can be completed online.

Online Baking Workshop: Finnish Cardamom Raisin Bread Wreath (Pulla)

This online baking class held by Shiela’s will teach you to make the traditional Finnish breakfast bread, Pulla. Pulla is a soft and slightly sweet braided cardamom loaf. Shiela will show you how to braid, bake and assemble your own Pulla. The online workshop will be held via Zoom on Sunday, Jan. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A recording of the workshop will be available 24 hours after the event. 

Paint with Janet - Intro to Abstract Art

This online art class will teach beginner artists everything they need to know about abstract art. The class will be held via Zoom on Sunday, Jan. 16 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Cost for the class is $10 and can be paid via e-transfer or PayPal to [email protected]. You will need watercolour or acrylic paints, watercolour or mixed media paper, and brushes in a variety of sizes. 

Winter Wonderland at Crimson Ridge

Crimson Ridge Golf Club offers a variety of outdoor activities during the winter season, including snowshoe trails, cross country skiing trails and fat biking trails. The skating trail is expected to open next week. Day passes are $8 for adults and $6 for children 18 and under, and include access to all trails for a full day. Day passes must be purchased online, with your receipt being proof of payment. Day passes are only valid on the day purchased. All trails are open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
