Not sure Brett Kissel bargained for this much ice and snow (17 photos)

But his local fans sure were happy

Multi-award winning Canadian country artist Brett Kissel kicked off his Ice, Snow, and 30 Below Tour in Sault Ste. Marie Thursday night at the Kiwanis Community Theatre Centre.

“Drive to Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario for our first stop on my Ice Snow & 30 Below Tour! There’s ICE on the highway, SNOW on the highway, and it’s 30 BELOW. Yeeehaw!!! This makes me so happy! #sarcasm” Kissel posted to Instagram with an accompanying video two days ago.

While the ice, snow, and treacherous driving conditions may not make a touring artist very happy, Kissel’s performance Thursday night left his local fans more than thrilled.

“Just got home from best concert ever in Sault Ste. Marie,” posted one fan to his Facebook page following the show.

“AMAZING show tonight. This was my 3rd time seeing you in concert and each time is better and better,” wrote another.

With him in the Sault, Kissel had Barrie’s Kansas Stone, one of 10 acts that won the opportunity to open for him during the Ontario leg of the tour thanks to his ‘Kick It With Kissel’ competition.

A different act will join him on stage at each stop of the tour that includes shows in Sudbury, Hamilton, Guelph, Barrie, and others before heading towards the East Coast.
