Although he is currently living in the Sault Ste. Marie writing songs for his upcoming solo CD (due out next summer), Mark Kuntsi is still keeping a connection with his audience in a live forum.

His upcoming performance at the Downbeat Lounge is a chance for audiences to see this powerful vocalist and acoustic guitarist display his wide-range of originals, as well as perform an eclectic mix of covers. Kuntsi claims to be perfectly at ease with stylistic shifts from "swing to rock to blues through to surprisingly ‘straight’ reads of early punk songs, and campy country takes on Led Zepplin."

The Sault native has played from coast to coast both as a solo performer and with a host of touring bands, including The Greenhouse Effect, Ernie’s Coffee Shop, The Festive Eddies, Push Button Automatic, and Dobb & Dumela. Kuntsi has for the past 6 years been the bass player for pagan pop-rockers Another 1000 Miles, whose 3rd CD is expected out by Christmas 2004.

Pique Magazine has called him “zany, sometimes passionate, but always compelling and entertaining.” Now is your chance to see the musical magic that only a performer like Kuntsi could pull off. Kuntsi will be performing live at the Downbeat Lounge on Thursday, November 25th beginning at 10:30 pm.
