Lots of love for Lopstock (16 photos)

A splendid showcase of local young talent took place yesterday at Loplops during the very first Lopstock music festival.

Presented by Ears and Eyes and friends, the seven-hour all-ages event included sets from mashagama, The Pixo Control, Gnaeus, Chris West (AKA Great Chamberlain), K.I.C.K., Nick Luck (AKA Aldous), and the Frasiers.

Well attended, well organized, and visually striking thanks to lighting and sound production from Crank Sound Distribution, the festival was a dazzling example of some of the Sault's young up-and-coming artists.

"I'm more than pleasantly surprised by what's happening on stage right now," SooToday.com overheard one attendee remark during The Frasiers' show-closing set.

On Saturday, July 12 at Cafe Natura, Ears and Eyes is pleased to present Faraway Neighbours with special guest Lyndon's Frozen Lake.

Tickets, available at Cafe Natura (75 Elgin St.), are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

This is an all-ages event and show time is 8 p.m.
