For fans of great country music, there will be a special opportunity to see a rising star perform this Sunday, December 12th as part of the Rad Zone's concert series.

Lori Morrison, whose name is becoming more familiar in country music circles, grew up on a farm just east of Sault Ste. Marie. With her mother's family being musicians, Morrison's formitive years were filled with sounds of country music and it was only a matter of time before she herself developed an interest in singing.

Fast forward to the early 1990s, when Morrision began performing at several festivals and venues across Northern Ontario and making guest appearances with bands on the local country bar circuit. In 1997, she packed her bags and moved to Toronto to begin her music career. There she started recording demos of her own material, which eventually led to the release of her debut CD, Just My Luck.

Not only has Morrison has grabbed the attention of Country Radio, receiving regular rotation across Canada and Australia, but the Just My Luck CD is now climbing the World Indie Chart out of Nashville hitting #29 (as of the week of November 26th). She was also recently honoured at the Ontario Country Music Awards (held at the Lil Big Horn, Cambridge, Ontario) with the "Future Star" award. Not bad at all for a hometown girl.

Morrision will be performing at the Rad Zone in the Wellington Square Mall on Sunday, December 12th. The show begins at 1:00 pm with special guest, local recording artist and songwriter, Chris Belsito (yep, that's me). Belsito will be providing approximately a 40-minute opening set in support of Morrision. Although Belsito isn't a country singer, he does share Morrison's love of songwriting and has a personal connection to her. Belsito went to high school at Central Algoma Secondary School (CASS) with Morrision many years ago.

Show Times
Chris Belsito: 1:00 - 2:00 pm
Lori Morrision: 2:00 - 3:00 pm

Morrision will be available for a meet and greet after the show.
