Local musicians Ty One On (12 photos)

All proceeds went to assist local musician Tyrone Souliere

A group of Sault musicians gathered at the Water Tower Pub Saturday night to honour one of their own.

Ty One On was a fundraiser in support of Tyrone Souliere - bass player in Five Below Zero and Mojo -  who's currently undergoing treatment for cancer.

The evening featured performances from a number of Souliere's friends and bandmates, including Val Powley and Shirley Kominos, Alex DeTorre, Rusty McCarthy, Al Davis, Doug Cousineau, and many others.

“He’s played with so many musicians in town, so I’ve tried to invite all those people out to play,” said event organizer Rusty McCarthy.

All of Saturday's performers donated their time and talents to the cause, something Souliere himself has done dozens of times to assist others.

All proceeds from the event went to help Souliere during this difficult time.

“If someone comes up with an idea, people will jump on the bandwagon," said McCarthy. "It’s so easy for us [as musicians] to donate our time.”
