To recognize Earth Day week, Clean North, in partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library, will be screening a 2018 documentary film, The Human Element, on Wednesday, April 24.

The movie will begin at 6:30 p.m., in the main branch library located at 50 East St. in downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. There is no charge to attend.

We humans are a force of nature. At the same time human activities alter the basic elements of life – earth, air, water, and fire  those elements change human life in turn.

In this riveting and visually rich drama blending art and science, we follow renowned environmental photographer James Balog as he explores wildfires, hurricanes, sea level rise, a struggling coal mining community, and our changing air supply.

With rare compassion and heart, The Human Element highlights people on the front lines of climate change, inspiring us to re-evaluate our relationship with the natural world.

The movie runs for 80 minutes and following the screening there will be a discussion featuring representatives of local organizations involved in addressing climate change.
