Born with the unwieldly handle of Lindy Vopnfjord, the singer-songwriter, now known only as Lindy, definitely has a unique story that he likes to tell.

Lindy came from a folk-singing family who traveled gig to gig in the back of a converted yellow school bus. He and his siblings slept in the back of the bus on cold Manitoba nights with no heat whatsoever and were seperated from their warm-and-cosy parents (in the front of the bus) by a thick sheet of plastic. Many years later, Lindy is still on that cold road, now as an acclaimed performer, spinning yarns of his childhood to audiences across the country.

For a child who spent his youth singing Icelandic folk songs and 60’s protest anthems with his parents and cousins in The Hekla Singers, Lindy has come a long way. As his bio states, Lindy's musical "maturation has grown immensely moving him past songs of peace and atomic bombs to the more life experiential themes of love, betrayal, and the beauty that comes from loss."

Lindy’s latest album, entitled "Suspension of Disbelief", showcases him as an artist dedicated to the craftsmanship of music, as well as a performer who understands pop sensibility.

Lindy’s soaring vocals, crowd-pleasing banter and dazzling acoustic guitar work can be heard at the Downbeat Lounge on Saturday, June 4th beginning at 11:00 pm.
