All members of the community are invited to join us in celebrating National Youth Arts Week at #Jam4Jam on May 9, 2019 at the Bushplane Heritage Centre beginning at 5 p.m.

This collaborative effort between Errol Lee, Youth Odena, and Soo York City Urban Arts Collective will feature an all-ages dinner and concert in support of the St. Vincent Place food bank.

Come out to the Bushplane Heritage Centre to enjoy a delicious buffet provided by The Breakfast Pig, and for incredible performances by award-winning artist Errol Lee and guest Shay, along with such local musicians as Conika, Sound Syndrome, Sawbe, Jacob Quarrell, Ginger Beats, and Bold Noize.

#Jam4Jam focuses on celebrating young artists that may not otherwise have a platform to share their talents. That’s why we’ll also be publicly highlighting several artists aged 12 to 18, whether their medium is visual arts, theatre, music, dance, or anything else.

Doors open for the dinner portion of the evening at 5 p.m., and tickets are $25 and a jar of jam (please bring to event). Tickets are available at Scott Coffee Co, Shabby Motley, St. Vincent Place, or by contacting the artists. For the concert only portion, doors open at 7 p.m. and admission is by donation to St. Vincent Place.

This amazing event wouldn’t be possible without the sponsorship of the Bushplane Heritage Centre, The Breakfast Pig, the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council, and CatalystsX.

If you have questions about the event, know a young person whose art should be shared, are interested in sponsorship opportunities, or want to sponsor a youth ticket, email Caceila Trahan at [email protected] or connect with Sara at St. Vincent Place at [email protected] or 705-253-2770 ext. 4.

From May 1 - 7, National Youth Arts Week provides an opportunity for young people across Canada to create a celebration of youth led events showcasing their talents, expressing and exchanging ideas, getting excited about the arts and celebrating their positive contribution to their communities and to Canada - from St. John's, N.L., to Vancouver, B.C., and everywhere in between!
