'Inside Montessori' documentary premieres next week

In celebration of Montessori Education Week, Feb. 25 to March 1, Meadow Park Montessori School in Sault Ste. Marie will be screening the local debut of Inside Montessori - Education Has a Future.

Inside Montessori is a documentary film that reframes the national education conversation toward creating learning environments that allow all children to achieve their full potential.

What should the purpose of education be? This film shines a light on five Montessori schools to demonstrate how they inspire learners and teachers. These stories of success for children from birth to high school illustrate why so many parents, children and educators embrace the Montessori approach to learning.

More than seven years ago Montessori parents Vina Kay and Jan Selby began working on the concept behind Inside Montessori (originally titled ‘Building the Pink Tower’), an independent documentary film about Montessori education. Vina is the Executive Director at Voices for Racial Justice, a Minnesota nonprofit, and Jan is an award-winning director at Quiet Island Films.

Meadow Park Montessori School has been delivering educational excellence to children from 18 months through Senior Kindergarten since 2007 and recently added a Lower Elementary program for grades one, two, and three in September 2018.

The school is dedicated to providing a diversified approach to learning and delivering an enriching and challenging educational environment where each child is encouraged to grow to his or her fullest potential academically, emotionally and socially.

Parents and individuals interested in viewing Inside Montessori and learning more about the Montessori approach to education are invited to attend a screening of the documentary on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019 at Meadow Park Montessori School - 339 Elizabeth St. at 7 p.m. Space is limited, so please contact the school to reserve your space.
