Parks Canada is pleased to welcome visitors to celebrate Canada Day by connecting with history at the Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site. Admission is free, and there will be a variety of special activities. It is sure to be an unforgettable day that will please every age! 

For this occasion, the Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site will host its third annual Parade of Paddles! This event invites all paddlers to bring their kayaks and canoes and enjoy a fun paddle through the lock and down the St. Marys River. Paddlers can land at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre and walk across the street to the Ermatinger Clergue National Historic Site where they can enjoy Poutine Feast! Registration for the event begins at 8 a.m. and launch time is 10 a.m. The event is free for both participants and spectators!
