Heather Dale performs in 7 provinces as part of Eastern Canada Tour

Heather Dale is a Canadian singer-songwriter with Celtic roots, who writes wise and witty songs for the 21st Century.

While her inspiration is firmly rooted in mythology and history, her innovative songs range from Celtic folk to bluesy rock.

Robert J. Wiersema (Vancouver Sun) writes: "Her music is powerful stuff, reminiscent of Loreena McKennitt and Sarah McLachlan but with a depth and resonance rooted in its mythic sources."

Heather Dale will be touring across Eastern Canada this Spring, in support of her upcoming 5th solo CD The Road to Santiago.

This two-month tour will mark her first performances in Newfoundland, PEI, and New Brunswick; Heather will also return to Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario and Manitoba.

Once this Eastern Canada tour is completed, Heather Dale will have played in all 10 Canadian provinces within six months, an accomplishment she sees as a personal pilgrimage.

"The paperwork side of my career was consuming my creativity," the fully independent artist explains. "I needed to get my feet grounded again - and so, like the pilgrims in the Middle Ages, I set my eyes on the horizon and started traveling."

The first stage of this Canadian pilgrimage took Heather across Western Canada in December 2004.

Traveling between Montreal and Vancouver, Heather and fellow multi-instrumentalist Ben Deschamps packed a station wagon full of CDs, instruments (including keyboards, acoustic & electric guitars, double bass, tin whistles & a bodhran drum), their winter coats and a portable tea-kettle.

"We were racing the snowstorms all the way, but what an adventure," Heather laughs.

That successful tour introduced her music to new fans across the country, something she plans to continue with her journey across Eastern Canada.

Heather Dale's live shows are a fascinating blend of song and storytelling.

She draws from the legends of many diverse cultures, including East Coast Celtic, Irish, British (particularly King Arthur and Robin Hood), Spanish, Greek, and even Canadian Inuit.

All of these are represented on her 5th solo CD release The Road to Santiago (available in May 2005; visit www.HeatherDale.com for details).

Heather co-produced The Road to Santiago with veteran folk producer Paul Mills (Stan Rogers, Tanglefoot).

The album shows the continuing evolution of Heather's art, with an emphasis on world rhythms and strong, tight songwriting.

Special pre-release copies of the CD will be available on this tour, with a full CD release party planned for July 27th at Hugh's Room (Toronto, Canada).

"Heather could very well be the heir apparent to many of today's top folk/Celtic stars," asserts Jim Marino of the Freewheelin' Folk Show (CFMU 93.3 FM, Hamilton, Canada).
