Dawaa Dazhi Gallery is pleased to present a group exhibition of recent works inspired by nature featuring four local and out of town Indigenous artists.

The From The Earth show will run from Nov. 9 to 30, 2017 with an opening reception the Thursday, Nov. 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. The exhibition will be in the Dawaa Dazhi Gallery space which is a part of The Miinikaan Project with the Arts Council of Algoma hosted at 369 Queen St. E., Suite 104-B.

Four artists will be featured in the show: Ray Fox, Mana Goodfellow, Rihkee Strapp and Patrick Hunter. The works are inspired by nature and vary between paintings, charcoal drawings and ceramics. Floral motifs, animal studies and bold colour work are explored in this exhibit.

For the majority of artists, the use of colour is important and often explosive. For this show colour has been utilized to showcase versatility, skill and overall interesting work.

The artist’s will be present at the opening reception Thursday. Gallery hours are Monday to Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and by appointment.
