The Four and Friends Art Sale runs from July 7 through to July 9 at the Community Hall in Bruce Mines.

It is a unique concept of four artists who invite twelve artist friends to show their best work in a setting designed by the artists.

This is the fifteenth year for Four and Friends and its unique concept remains a popular attraction. "The Four" artists are, Doug Bradford, Linda Finn, Doug Hook and John Keast.

This popular show features the works of professional and emerging artists from the area of Sault Ste. Marie, along the North Shore of Lake Huron and Elliot Lake. This year's selection of artists promises to produce a strong and vibrant exhibition.

Well known artists whose works will be displayed include Theresa Baic, Jill Barich, Jane Scott Barsanti, Ken Hagerman, Elizabeth Holmes, Gwen Keatley, Jane Meyer, Hugh Morrow and Diane Stewart. New to Four and Friends are Brigetta Bere, Linda King, and Marilyn Mills.

The sculptural wood work of Murray Finn will also be displayed. Finn's highly prized pieces artistically combine the individual features of the wood's grain with secretive panels to produce functional art.

Also featured will be the work of Matt Scott, the recipient of the 2006 Four and Friends Scholarship.

Designed to recognize the accomplishments of a student graduating from the Central Algoma Secondary School art program, the "Four and Friends Art Scholarship" was started in 1997.

There is a cash award that is funded by donations from visitors of the art show. The award winner is invited to show in the next year's annual event!

In addition, Four and Friends presents the public with the unique opportunity to meet these artists as most will be in attendance throughout the weekend to discuss their work.

This event is sponsored by the Bruce Mines and District Chamber of Commerce whose goal is to feature better known artists and provide access for "emerging" artists.
