Show runs until April 28 at the Sault Community Theatre Centre

The Kingdom of Duloc and all its fairytale inhabitants come to life tonight as the Musical Comedy Guild’s production of Shrek the Musical opens at the Sault Community Theatre Centre.

Directed by Timothy Murphy, the show stars Winston Sullivan as Shrek, Ali Edwards as Fiona, Ryan Mauro as Donkey and Mitchell Doherty as Lord Farquaad. Also deserving of top billing are the five talents whose combined efforts make the impressive dragon come to life – Lynne Vallee and puppeteers Isaac Withers, Aeva Goodship, Steve Veldt and Kyla Robinson.

Curtain time for Shrek the Musical is 7:30 p.m. tonight through to Saturday, April 27. The Sunday matinee performance will begin at 2 p.m.

Tickets – available at the Community Box Office in the Station Mall – are $45 for adults, $38 for seniors (aged 60+), and $32 for children.

About Shrek the Musical

Based on the hit DreamWorks Animation family film, Shrek the Musical follows everyone’s favourite grumpy ogre and his wise-cracking sidekick Donkey as they embark on an adventure to rescue the feisty Princess Fiona. Throw in a love-sick, fire-breathing dragon, a short-tempered villain and a gang of fairy-tale misfits and you’ve got the biggest, brightest musical comedy around.
