Everyone's a winner at Soo Sings for Kids (20 photos)

Six teams sang and danced to raise funds for charity

Six teams took part in the 6th annual Soo Sings for Kids charity event Wednesday night at the Sault Community Theatre Centre. To date, the highly anticipated fundraiser has raised $110,000 for local charities, event emcee Timothy Murphy told the audience prior to show time.

Soo Sings for Kids invites area businesses and organizations to sing and dance their hearts out on stage in front of a packed house and a panel of judges who critique each performance. After deliberation, the first place team receives a cheque for $5,000 to be given to the charity of its choosing, second place $3,500 and third place $2,500. The remaining teams get $1,500 for their chosen charity.

There is also an online People's Choice Award with $1,000 in free advertising on SooToday donated to the winning team's charity. As an added bonus this year, the remaining five teams received $500 in advertising for their charities.

The 2018 Soo Sings for Kids teams are:

  • Team Enchante - Algoma District School Board
  • Encore - Algoma Public Health
  • Collective Voices - City of Sault Ste. Marie and Social Services
  • Sault College #1-ders

And the winners are:
