The United Way along with TOPS, in association with Musicians from the OPS and OLG present United We Jam! An Evening of Musicultural Diversity.

This event will take place Saturday, Feb. 22 at The Marconi Event Centre.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and will feature local acts Tapestry, The Mashup Mamas, No Strings Attached, Kelly McGillivray, The Sidekicks and The Soo’s Got Talent 2018 Winner Daniella Brewer.

Brewer, who is in town for her reading week always enjoys performing for family and friends and saw this event as an opportunity to give back to her hometown.

“My music teacher, Kait Tappenden, always encouraged me to perform. I enjoyed participating in The Sault’s Got Talent. On occasion, I sang the national anthem at the Soo Greyhounds games. I entered a songwriting contest and also recently had the opportunity to perform at a coffee house in Toronto.”

Brewer, who is currently studying sports media at Ryerson, is excited to get back in front of a Soo crowd.

“I have a variety of songs from different genres that I enjoy performing. I am just polishing up my setlist for this show on Saturday evening. I’m known for some of my slower songs, but I will have some more upbeat favourites to add as well”.

This is an all-ages show and families are welcome. Tickets for the event are $15 and thanks to one of our sponsors Gateway Casinos and Entertainment each ticket holder 18 and older will receive a $10 casino voucher. Tickets can be purchased from Shane at The United Way – [email protected] or at the door.

“You are getting to see six talented homegrown acts for $5 with this voucher,” said event co-organizer, emcee and musician Tracey Hilderley. “Where else can you do that?” added Hilderley, who will also be performing with her band The Sidekicks.

We would like to thank all our sponsors including The Marconi Event Centre, Long and McQuade, OPSEU, AMAPCEO and Gateway Casinos and Entertainment.

The United Way is improving lives locally by moving people from poverty to possibility. Helping kids be all they can be and building strong and healthy communities.

All proceeds raised from ticket sales will go to The United Way and all funds stay local.
