Rotaryfest just got a whole lot cooler – SooToday Stage Two has been extended to all three days of the festival, from Thursday, July 19 to Saturday, July 21. This year’s Rotaryfest committee is excited to welcome SooToday as title sponsor of this crowd favourite event.

"SooToday is a proud supporter of the arts and works hard to support local, so sponsoring Stage Two is a perfect fit for us,” shared Jasmyn Rowley, SooToday Director of Communications & Community Engagement. “Rotaryfest is a fantastic annual community event that is enjoyed by many, and we are thrilled to be a part of it."

SooToday Stage Two is totally free, and the community is encouraged to come down and share in the blend of Folk Pop, Alt Rock, Hip-Hop, Synth-Pop, Indie and Blues.

“With two additional days of music, we've been able to feature twice as many bands and artists - from solo, singer-songwriters who have just started writing music, to bands with 30+ years of stage experience,” shared Stage Director and Rotarian, Megan Wigmore, “SooToday Stage Two has always been a fantastic venue to enjoy original music from up-and-coming and established artists.”

Located beside the Art Gallery of Algoma, with beautiful views of the St. Mary’s River, it is the perfect activity for the whole family to enjoy.

Headlining SooToday Stage Two on Friday night will be Toronto’s Parallels. Playing smoky, synth-y, electro-pop, Parallels conjures classic pop sentiments of neon nights.

With vocals described as “a young Madonna meets modern electro,” front-woman Holly Dodson is joined by her brother, Nick Dodson and keyboardist Oliver Blair. The title track of their third album “Metropolis” (2018) featured as “Song of the Week” on CBC’s “Here and Now”.

Parallels has toured extensively covering thousands of miles bringing their lively rhythms to LA,  Moscow,  Miami, New York, San Francisco, and everywhere in between, including a sold-out show at the Royal Ontario Museum.
