Central Algoma students gear up for evening of arts and music

The annual event boasts singing, dancing, bands, and even a one-act play

The last time CASS held its annual arts evening was June 2019. The event returns June 1. The full text of the release follows:

Students and staff in Central Algoma are gearing up for the first celebration of the Arts to occur since June of 2019.  Save the date for June 1st

The (typical) annual event boasts singing, dancing, bands, and even a one-act play called Imperfect Proposal put on by students from both the Intermediate and Secondary panels.

“After three years of having very little arts culture in the school, it seems like finally it is safe to do something for and with our students,” said teacher Christina Foster. “It is time to rebuild our extra-curricular programs again!”

This year, even the staff has decided to put a band together. But they aren’t giving away what songs they will be singing.  “It’s a secret,” said teacher and guitar player Josh Perin, “but the audience will definitely be familiar with the songs. They are classics!”

Rob Foster, music teacher has been working hard with his student band CASS FM who also have a few hits to lay down at Arts Night – the talent in these students is unreal. “I could see them shaming the teacher band, that’s for sure,” said Foster.

Visual art and live production of art will also be seen on June 1, curated by teacher Ted Bingham. You may even be able to get a caricature done of yourself!

This night will be filled with talent and fun, so join us in the Auditorium at CASS on June 1 at 7 p.m.

Entry is by donation.
