About  Algoma Music Camp

Nestled in the hills on scenic St. Joseph Island, the Algoma Music Camp was the dream of the late Ed Gartshore, a highly regarded Sault Ste. Marie violin and orchestra instructor.

Ed loved watching young musicians develop confidence in their musical abilities.

His professional contacts with musicians throughout North America served him in forming a superb faculty.

The tradition lives on.

Algoma Music Camp has been producing enthusiasm and dedication in its students for 50 years.

Hundreds of alumni were inspired by AMC to successful careers in music or their chosen field.
