Grab your cape and unleash your inner comic book character as the 100th Annual Rotary Community Day Parade flies into town with a "Sooperhero" theme.

Presented by Evolugen, the parade kicks off on July 15 at 11 a.m., starting at Pim Street and moving to Gore Street. Expect to see awe-inspiring floats, dazzling costumes, and a lineup of your favourite heroes, organizers say.

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the parade, the prize for winning entries has doubled — with the Grand Prize Entry reaching $1,000.

“We are very excited to be celebrating 100 years of the Rotary Community Day Parade," said the aptly named parade marshal, David K. Marshall, in a media release. "Our club is looking forward to seeing how creative some of these businesses and community groups who are putting in entries will get, and of course, we always love to see all the smiling faces of the Soo's children."

Rotary is looking for as many “Sooperheroes” as possible to join in the parade. Organizers are encouraging everyone to assemble a team, polish their super abilities, and let their imaginations soar.

For more information about how to enter a float in the parade, visit the Rotary’s parade package at rotaryfest.com/parade.
