Brace yourself, the Gates are back!

Gates of Winter is back and they're taking the stage at Oddfellows Hall, along with a few good friends, for a major blow out this Friday.

Here's what Gates frontman Steve Furgiuele had to say:

Steve says

This is Steve Furgiuele from local band Gates of Winter. I was wondering if a writeup could be possible on the band promoting our return show to the local music scene.

SooToday has always been extremely helpful in promoting the band and local music in general and we thoroughly appreciate the helping hand along the way which you have provided.

We have not played locally since the summer (HeatWave - an event myself and Joe Chiverelli put on, and RotaryFest) and with a new member are ready to attack the local scene once more.

The band has completely re-invented our sound as our musicianship and friendships grew over the few years.

Our relationships with local bands have only grown stronger as well.

In the coming months we have many shows scheduled locally as well as out of town gigs opening for Canadian metal legends Quo Vadis, Blood of Christ and Sudbury metal band (and friends) Beyond Within.

For this return show in which I am putting on we have invited friends SLU (Shannon Burditt and Steph Sears) who are a twin acoustic act to open the show; followed by rockers Fitswitch; local metal band Soldiers of Misfortune and then Gates of Winter.

The show is Friday February 24th at the Oddfellows Hall on Dennis Street.

The event is all ages with a $3 cover and is from 7 to 10 p.m. (doors open at 6:30). All of the bands are more than
excited to play this event.

We in Gates are very excited to bring our unique blend of melody and metal back to the Sault showcasing a whole set of new original songs.
