The love that remains after a loved one passes is a complicated love. It’s a love that encompasses all the love that was, is, and continues through us and with us. It’s a sad love, a happy love and a hopeful love.

Sad love: that you are gone and our bond is broken. We can’t run to you with every happiness and sadness that fills our days, our worries about the future and what may be. Sad that we cannot see your smile, feel your touch, or hear your voice.

Happy love: that we were so loved by someone like you. Happiness of the love you have taught us, gave us, and nurtured in us. The type of love we seek and cherish with our family and friends. A love that reminds us to be happy to be alive and not take anything for granted.

Hopeful love: that we can have and give the same love to others. The hopeful love of a full life even in your absence because you showed us it is possible!

3 years gone by and it still feels like yesterday. We miss you more with every passing day. Until that special day we meet again, keep dancing with the angels. Love always, your simple kind of man, your husband Merrill. Love you 3000 your son Jeff (Jana) and grand doggy Karma, Love you the whole universe and beyond, your daughter Jennifer (Darren) and grandson Jaxon.
