A new event is coming to town this year — The Sault Film Festival. This festival will be run by 180 Sisterhood Productions and will be a chance for independent filmmakers from Northern Ontario to come together and create an environment for everyone to celebrate independent films.

This non-profit organization was created by Sault locals to support the Sault and Northern Ontario’s film industry, and will feature screenings, networking, and workshop events. It is open to filmmakers from Northern Ontario only.

Local sponsors are encouraged to reach out and participate, as the event is already attracting many participants and filmmakers, said 180 Sisterhood Productions in a press release. Several sponsorship opportunities are available, including prize donations. Mentions of the sponsors will also be included on social media platforms.

Submissions opened July 12 2020, with the early bird deadline being Aug. 30 2020, and final deadline being Oct.16 2020. The festival will be held on Nov. 27-29, 2020.

The Sault Film Festival hopes local businesses consider sponsoring the event to connect local talent and highlight local businesses.
