VIDEO: Local Barbie elves deliver thousands of dolls to Christmas Cheer

Vera McCron and Chris Crawford have been collecting dolls for the local Christmas Cheer campaign for almost 40 years.

Sisters Vera and Chris have spent the better part of four decades putting together meaningful gifts for local children as a part of the Christmas Cheer program. Their specialty: Dolls. More specifically, in recent years, Barbie and her friends. The duo scours garage sales and thrift shops (and accept donations from the public) for gently used Barbies, clothing and accessories, and create gift packages for children in need of a special present at Christmas. With love, and a lot of attention to detail, Vera and Chris have created thousands of packages for local families to enjoy.

The 2016 Christmas Cheer depot is now open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will also be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.on Saturday, November 26 and Saturday, Dec. 3. It is located at 24 Second Line West (in the former Transcom building).
