Staff member at 699 Trunk Road Tim Hortons tests positive for COVID-19

A staff member at Tim Hortons at Trunk Road and Boundary Road has tested positive for COVID-19.

Tim Hortons media team confirmed to SooToday this afternoon that the store was temporarily closed on Sunday after a team member tested positive for the virus.

In a statement, the company stated the team member's last shift was on Saturday and that the team member and those who worked with them are self-isolating for 14 days.

The media team also said the restaurant was closed for cleaning and sanitization, and reopened today with team members who have not been in contact with a positive case.

Currently, there are 17 active cases in Algoma and one active case in a non-Algoma resident who is temporarily in the region.

To date, Algoma Public Health has confirmed 81 positive cases of COVID-19, 64 of which are resolved.

Meanwhile, in Sault, Mich., Chippewa County Health Department has confirmed 1440 cases and 14 deaths as of Friday. Seven people are currently hospitalized and 921 cases are recovered.
