The second annual DU283 was rescheduled earlier this summer and the new date is coming up in September.

The event, put on by the Algoma Family Services Foundation, will happen on Sept. 27.

Following is a release from the foundation on some of the preparations:

DU283 is quickly approaching its new race day. After being postponed from its original date this summer, DU283 and Algoma Family Services Foundation are looking forward to holding its annual duathlon on Sept. 27, 2020 at The Machine Shop. DU283 is once again partnering with the Sault North Rotary Club and RAM Fitness and Cycling Studio and several other community partners to bring the Algoma region a truly unique event.

The main event of DU283 is a Run/Bike/Run spanning 38 kilometers. There will also be youth events for all ages. Due to COVID-19, registration for this year’s DU283 duathlon is limited to 100 participants. DU283 and its partners will strategize together to ensure everyone can participate in the event safely. “We are excited to finally be back in the planning stages for DU283. Last year’s support of the event was astounding and we wanted to do everything that we could to bring the event back for a second year. We faced some challenges due to Covid-19 but we felt this was something the community needed as a way to support each other through athletics and to help those who may be struggling with all the changes the world has taken,” said Sonny Spina, event founder.
