Algoma Public Health is reporting a new confirmed case of COVID-19 in the area this morning.
The exposure categoy is unknown, though the person is currently self-isolating and was tested on Oct. 1.
Unknown exposure is considered evidence of ongoing community spread in Sault Ste. Marie and area as well as southern Ontario.
Close contacts have been notified.
