Algoma Public Health has reported the region's fourth COVID-related death.
APH says out of respect for the family, no further information is being shared.
“This loss of life affects all of us deeply,” said Dr. Jennifer Loo, Medical Officer of Health said in a press release this afternoon. “On behalf of Algoma Public Health, we offer our most sincere condolences to this person’s loved ones.”
The first death in the region was reported on Jan. 18.
APH reported three new cases of the virus over the weekend, bringing the area's total number of confirmed cases since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to 199.
