If you're older than 65 and discombobulated by all those greedy food hoarders and empty shelves lately, Rome's Independent wants to make your life a tad easier.

Starting this Wednesday, the Cambrian Mall grocer is planning a daily hour of seniors-only shopping from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.

"It's a Loblaws chain-wide policy in response to COVID-19," hot foods manager Amber Flinn tells SooToday.

"And, we've introduced a number of other store policies to keep things cleaner and protect our staff," Flinn said.

But she warns they're serious about letting only seniors through the doors before the store opens officially at 8 a.m.

"We ask that all our shoppers respect this request and to please shop during appropriate time frames," says a post on the Rome's Facebook page.

"We thank all our customers for their patience and respect during this busy time. Our staff are truly working around the clock to make sure things are available and proper."

"Please stay home if you are feeling ill. Let’s work together to help us and our community stay healthy!"

"Please try to use PC Express ordering as much as possible to help keep us all safe. Less interaction is better for everyone."
