COVID-19 outbreak declared at FJ Davey Home

Algoma Public Health (APH) has issued a notice confirming a COVID-19 outbreak at FJ Davey Home after six staff members tested positive.

Some staff members are currently in isolation in order to prevent further transmission, APH says.

"Testing of F.J. Davey residents is in the process of being completed," the notice states. "Available lab results have been negative. As the remainder of results become available, F.J. Davey will continue to provide updates to residents, staff, and family members."

Anyone with questions – including staff, family, and essential workers – is urged to contact FJ Davey Home at 705-942-2204.

This marks the second reported COVID-19 outbreak at FJ Davey Home since the beginning of the pandemic.

There are currently 15 active cases in the Algoma region, bringing the district's total to 162.
