APH reports third case of COVID-19 in less than a week

Individual was exposed as a result of international travel, says health unit

Algoma Public Health (APH) is reporting a new positive case of COVID-19 in a resident of the Algoma District.

This is the third case of COVID-19 reported by APH in less than a week.

According to APH, the individual was exposed as a result of international travel and they are currently self-isolating.

The individual was tested on Sept. 19. Close contacts have been notified.

Important information:
    •    All Algoma residents must continue to practice physical distancing because any close contact could be a possible exposure
    •    Indoor private gatherings are limited to 10 people or less by law
    •    Masks or face coverings must be worn in all indoor public places in Algoma and they should also be worn in other settings where physical distancing cannot be maintained
