APH reports new COVID case

Algoma Public Health is reporting the region's 196th case of COVID-19.

The case was tested on Feb. 22 in the Elliot Lake area.

APH advises that the individual was a close contact of another positive case and is currently self-isolating.

Currently, there are four active cases in the region. Two are currently hospitalized.

To date, 192 cases have been resolved and three COVID patients have died.

Comparatively, in Sault Michigan, Chippewa County Health Department has reported 1,749 cumulative positive cases, 1,667 cumulative recovered cases, and 26 cumulative deaths.
