The Canadian penny is on its last legs.
In terms of production, at least.
The mint will stop producing the coin this fall.
Each one costs more than a cent to make.
But you'll still be able to use the pennies you already have.
The coin is being eliminated as cost-saving measure through the Harper government's budget.
Ending production will save about $11-million, the government says.
