The Root of it All

The tragic events that unfolded in Boston, yesterday, and the horrific scenes in the media, remind us that our society is far from idyllic.

Happy Easter!

There are many reasons to celebrate “ Easter .” As a Christian holiday (holy day), it is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, three days following his crucifixion.

Face Plant!

People who have seen me recently, or those who are my “Friends” on Facebook, expressed some shock at my appearance. You see, I had a bit of an, uh… “accident.” I had a busy day, Sunday.

A positive influence.

Yet again, I find myself apologizing for neglecting this column. I’d like to say I was terribly busy at work, but except for one week, that has not been the case; at least, not paid work.

My Ten cents' worth.

Winter It’s bright and sunny, today, and I suppose I should be outside enjoying it — perhaps cross-country skiing or snowshoeing (except, I don’t own any), or just going for a walk.

Enjoying Winter?

Well, there is no doubt that winter is well and truly upon us. It’s hard to believe that a few short weeks ago it was pouring rain and what snow we had a Christmas was being washed away.

New Year’s Gratitude

Well, it took a bit longer than I intended, but I have put together a list of the things for which I am grateful.

Mayan Apocalypse

So… this could be my last column. If the Mayans are right, there will be no tomorrow. (I am writing this Thursday evening, going on 11 o’clock; posted at 1145 pm.) I am reminded of a song by alternative rock band R.E.M.

’Tis the season.

( Once again, my apologies for the delay in getting a new column posted. You know the one about the one-armed paper-hanger? -- David ) Yes, it’s Christmas once again.

What is it that we need to Remember?

Sunday is Remembrance Day . Following a brief parade and wreath-laying ceremony at the Cenotaph, the annual Remembrance Day commemoration will take place at the Essar Centre . Many Sault and area residents will attend. Many more will not.
