SooToday, in partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society and The Animal Assistance Group (TAAG), brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.
Avery and Cammi
(TAAG)These two sweet girls are Avery (white) and Cammi (tabbi), sisters who came to TAAG from a hoarding situation when they were seven weeks old. Unfortunately they had a very rough start to their precious little lives and were traumatized by dogs and cats that were in the home so they were very frightened of everything.
Since being in foster care for about two years they are both doing really well and now get along very well with the other cats in the home. They are both still a bit skittish until they get to know you, but love affection, both love to be brushed, love their treats and love to play with the wand. Neck scratches are their absolute favorite, and they love wet food time!
Avery and Cammi are bonded to each other so cannot be separated, so they have a special adoption fee of only 50 dollars! They would do better in a quieter home with no dogs or young children. Avery and Cammi need a special human who has lots of love to give and will be patient when they are nervous. Lets find these two sweet girls their forever home!
TAAG is currently conducting virtual adoptions as much as possible. You can fill out a Preadoption Form and we are also able to Skype with adoption information. This method is restrictive as we are limited with home-checking because of the COVID 19 health crisis, therefore it will be a slower process.
TAAG is currently unable to take in the usual number of rescued cats we can help. We lack a physical facility and our volunteer base has become limited. We are unable to assist in having cats spayed or neutered as access to Vets is quite limited.
One very unfortunate result of the current human viral pandemic will be the inevitable impact on the innocent lives of cats and dogs, the dumping of pets, and the explosion of unwanted kittens and homeless cats in the near future.
TAAG is looking for help in anticipation of this crisis as we have a shortage of funds to address any upcoming emergencies. As a non-profit animal rescue, we receive no government funding and rely on the generosity of those who wish to be stewards of abandoned animals who cannot care for themselves or to help those pets who have families in need of emergency vet care.
We are also unable to hold any fundraisers right now due to restrictions. If you would like to help, please visit: https://www.animalassistancegroup.org/donate
