The Sault Blues Society is pleased to announce that we will be presenting the Halifax Blues Rock power duo of Campbell & Johnston on Thursday June 1st at Soo Blaster 345 Queen Street East. Doors open at 6:30 with the local opener Smokehouse (Mike Yurich (guitar, vocals and keys) Steve Francis (bass) Mark Mizzi (drums) with special guest Sheila Dollimont (acoustic /vocals) taking the stage at 7pm. The Sault Blues Society is adding 3 local musicians to this power house duo for this show, they are Lindsay Pugh (bass), Cliff Alloy (drums) and Jeff Holmes (keys) to round out this performance.
Halifax Blues-Rock power duo, Christine Campbell & Blake Johnston have been building a name for themselves, entertaining audiences with their soulful tone, 60's and 70s rock style guitar riffs and bewitching vocal harmonies; and opening for some big names, like Burton Cummings, Steve Earle & Bob Segar.
In 2021, they released their self-titled Album, Campbell & Johnston’s Black Market Band. This self produced recording, adds a touch of their old school rock influences with a modern twist on blues and soul. It earned them an award for Best Blues Album at the 2022 ECMAs and a Maple Blues Nomination. Then in 2023, Campbell’s home province showed their support for her, with the Music PEI award “Rooted to the Island Award”!
This show will be our first presentation at Soo Blaster, 345 Queen Street East (there are about 30 parking spots on this block of Queen (free after 6pm) and about 50 free spots AFTER 6PM in the International lot immediately west of Soo Blaster. There is also plenty of parking available in the King Street parking lot (north of Queen and in the Station Mall parking lot (near the old Sears)).
Tickets will be available at the outlets listed on the poster on Friday April 28th, they are CASE MUSIC, LONG & McQUADE, RAD ZONE, SAULT COMMUNITY BOX OFFICE, SESSIONS CANNABIS, SOO BLASTER and STONES OFFICE SUPPLY.

Teresa, Roger Scharbach, myself and my daughter Amy all really enjoyed this act when we saw them at the Maple Blues Summit in June of 2022 in Toronto. Here is the brief write up that I wrote for the SBS Exec. while watching them perform “11:30pm CAMPBELL & JOHNSTON: Halifax NS, very high energy, duo listening act. Very BIG sound for a duo and acoustic. great acoustic pickers. Christine has an excellent voice and is a great picker. They got a standing “O”. After the show my daughter Amy, who was in attendance, said, “that was a goosebump performance Dad!!” “
