Our Sault Ste. Marie office is currently recruiting for a motivated Project Manager, to join our team and manage hazardous materials and indoor environmental quality projects in our region. This position would report to the Operations Manager.

The Hazardous Materials and Indoor Environmental Quality (HAZ/IEQ) department at Pinchin provides clients with hazardous material and designated substances surveys and associated consulting services (HAZ). These services support property transactions, planned maintenance, repair, renovation and demolition activities, and is conducted to protect workers and building occupants. We also provide specialized indoor environmental quality (IEQ) services, such as indoor air quality investigations, Legionella consulting, radon consulting, and microbial contamination consulting.

A Day in the life of a Project Manager at Pinchin:

- Effectively manage projects start to finish, including acting as a liaison between clients, contractors and other project stakeholders; scope and proposal development; budgeting; project execution; technical support; review and preparation of deliverables; financial performance, invoicing; and, quality control
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractor performance and remediation activities
- Lead and supervise project coordinators and technologists in their job functions and career growth
- Train and mentor junior staff, including on the execution of established standard operating procedures and the review of written reports
- Maintain and enhance quality control following established protocols
- Collaborate on the effective delivery of projects with project managers and technologists from other divisions and offices
- Continually develop and maintain positive client relationships
- Participate in business development and marketing activities for new and existing clients
- Manage time on projects effectively and efficiently
- Ensure the well-being and safety of workers and building occupants where Pinchin projects are present

What you bring to the Pinchin Team:

We are looking for someone with 2-5 years of related experience, including project management and specifically in consulting related to the responsibilities of the position. Some key qualifications and skills that we are looking for:

- A degree, diploma, or certificate in Construction Technology, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, or a Bachelor of Science or Applied Science would be an asset
- A related certificate or professional designation (PMP, EP, AScT, CRSP, ROH, ROHT. C.E.T., EIT P.Eng.) would be an asset
- Familiarity with building systems: structure, envelope, HVAC etc.
- A strong project management track record
- Sound knowledge of relative Ontario and Federal regulations and guidelines and experience liaising with governing bodies
- Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills
- Flexible and adaptable, you’re analytical and a creative problem solver
- Patient and clear, you’re able to train and mentor junior staff
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
- Excellent technical writing, reviewing, and editing skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Availability to work outside of core business hours
- Reliable and dynamic, you get the job done and you are willing to chip in to help your peers
