McDougall Energy is seeking a Human Resources Generalist who is eager to learn and grow their career in Human Resources to join our team. Reporting to the Director, Human Resources and working closely with other members of the HR team and management, this role will be accountable to provide HR support within our organization and deliver programs and services that support our company objectives.  
Key Responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to managers and employees for all day-to-day related HR inquiries and daily operations of the business.
  • Leading the recruitment and selection process including job postings, position descriptions, interviews, references, and employment offers.
  • Assisting with development, implementation, and administration of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance in accordance with employment legislation.
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of orientation programs and customized training plans, providing a positive on boarding experience for our employees.
  • Providing HR guidance and support to managers on recruiting, employee performance, discipline, documentation, employee engagement and retention, training and development.
  • Assisting with identifying employee skills gaps and developing or sourcing appropriate training programs.
  • Other duties may be required as well as the execution and delivery of special projects to support the business.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1-3 years of progressive experience in a generalist role covering all areas of HR.
  • Post-secondary education with a focus in HR Management.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport and maintain relationships.
  • Solid organizational, planning, and self-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust to changing business priorities.  
  • Good decision making, judgement, organization, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work and deliver effectively in a fast-paced environment.
