TEMPORARY FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT ADVISOR

Community Living Algoma, Employment Services provides employment supports for people with an intellectual disability. We currently are recruiting 2 Full Time Employment Advisors, who have a natural talent for sales and can create employment opportunities as well as assist with onsite coaching to ensure a great fit.

REQUIREMENTS
•Provide employment support to adults with an intellectual disability. This includes, but is not limited to assessments, employment readiness training, job coaching and follow up
•Recruit community employment by creating innovative marketing materials to be used for various audiences; to liaison with employers, follow-up and secure employment opportunities; Job carving; and promoting the benefits of the program through individual meetings and group presentations
•Ability to facilitate in securing hours with employers
•Promote and assist in the development of natural supports within the work environment, and promote the department to the public via media, schools, group presentations, conferences, etc.
•Actively participate in outside agency committee work such as Rotary, Chamber of Commerce, trade shows etc.
•Work within the guidelines stipulated by various legislation, ie. Employment Standards Act, ODSP Employment etc.
•Assist with the development and implementation of the Summer Supported Employment program and other grant programs
•Work in a variety of settings and working conditions, which may vary from office settings to environments with varying temperatures, levels of cleanliness etc.
•Promote safe work practices in all work settings, ensure data collection is reported and analyzed and participate with support plans in the area of employment and ensure follow-up is complete
