Position Summary:

The Healthy Sexuality and Prevention Coordinator is responsible for developing and  implementing health promotion activities geared to adults and youths on the subject matter of HIV/AIDS; developing and delivering educational materials/training workshops to community health care/social service providers, workplaces, community groups, youth groups, post- secondary students and other groups/organizations by request. This position shall take a priority focus on preventing the further spread of HIV among men, LGBTQ youth, and with individuals/groups at risk of HIV related to intravenous drug use. You will also be responsible for maintaining up to date education materials as well as social media communications, client records, statistical research information and in addition facilitate client referrals to appropriate community resources. Actively network with community partners and participate on community committees that involve or will increase awareness of HIV/AIDS and related issues. 

The Ideal Candidate will  Possess: 

  • Post- secondary diploma/degree in Social Services, Health Promotion/Community Development or related fields 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a community setting  
  • Strong commitment to health promotion, community development and adult education  
  • Demonstrated knowledge and comfort supporting individuals through HIV/AIDS and drug use 
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain successful working relationships; with clients and agencies 
  • Ability to provide an excellent client experience evidence by strong communication skills, both verbal and written  
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; able to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to provide services to clients in a professional, non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner 
  • A solid track record of maintaining privacy and confidentiality in the workplace 

Compensation: Salary as per the CUPE Collective Agreement – $23.96 to $24.92 

Operations: Monday to Friday – Business Hours, Weekends & Holidays Off
