Temporary full-time up to March 31, 2020
Reporting to the Manager of Child and Family Services, the Speech Language Pathologist will work within an interdisciplinary team environment to provide speech and language service to children from birth to the time they start school. The services are established by the project activities from The Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services- Preschool Speech and Language Program.
Ability, Experience, and Skills for this position include (but not limited to):
•Master's Degree or equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology.
•Eligible for registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologist of Ontario (C.A.S.L.P.O). Eligible for membership/certification with C.A.S.L.P.A.
•Experience in assessing and providing a range of treatment services to children and their families.
•Hanen certification preferred.
•Experience in facilitating parent training programs for children under 3.5 years old.
•Demonstrates effective leadership skills.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
•Effective time management and project management skills.
•Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
•Must be reliable and have a good attendance record.
•Oral and written proficiency in both official languages is an asset.
•Use of a reliable automobile, valid “G” Ontario Driver’s Licence and ability to travel is a requirement.
•Ability to work outside regular business hours, including weekends and evenings, as required.
•A current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) with satisfactory clearance is a condition of employment, at own expense.
