Lake Superior State is looking for a Technical Operations employee for our Registrar Office. This position falls under the direction of the Registrar, responsible for technical operations for the Registrar’s Office. Evaluate current processes and find efficiencies through use of technology. Provide user documentation and training as needed.
Degree Works – Using Scribe, responsible for the creation and maintenance of degree compliances for all University programs. Implement Degree Works functions not currently being utilized. Using Transit, run jobs to report information regarding degree compliances, update processes, etc. Create and update user documentation, provide demos, and conduct training sessions for faculty, staff and students on a continuous basis. Follow Listservs and Banner websites to remain up to date with changes/problems affecting Degree Works.
Graduation Process – Create reports; provide graduation lists and information as needed to departments on campus. Send correspondence to potential graduates regarding graduation and commencement. Order, check, and mail diplomas to graduates each semester. Order Diploma covers and verify appropriate stock exists.
Commencement – Provide reports, name cards, etc. as needed for the Commencement and Honors Convocation programs. Provide and verify student graduation information for the programs and be part of the committee responsible for the smooth running of each program.
Degree Audit Verifications – Complete Degree Audit verifications for students planning to graduate. Correspond to students regarding missing requirements and to provide information.
Process student exceptions in My Degree Plan – Post substitution and waiver forms and document all audit adjustments to student records. Respond to emails sent to the Graduation email and be a contact for students with questions regarding graduation.
Work with the Registrar to complete final degree verifications. Complete letters to students not graduating verifying missing requirements needed. Maintain statistics.
National Student Clearinghouse – Act as contact for the National Student Clearinghouse. Responsible for the submission of clearinghouse enrollment, degree verification and graduation files each semester.
Web Tailor – Responsible for web tailor functions in Anchor Access (Self Service) for the Student, Faculty Services, and General Tabs.
Maintain various web pages controlled by Registrar’s Office. Create new web pages as needed.
Responsible for Scanning Functions – This includes set up, documentation and training, and scanning as needed.
Data uploads, downloads – Responsible for completion of student data uploads, and downloads of university data as needed.
Maintain the various software programs used in the Registrar’s Office (Transfer Equivalency system, E Transcripts, etc.).
Work with the Registrar to test upgrades to the Student Module of Banner and for Degree Works. Complete technical processes in Banner throughout the semester.
Generate reports as requested for Registrar staff. Work with Argos coordinator to ensure all reports for the Registrar’s Office are accurate.
