We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Sr Manager Solution Architecture to With an agile mindset, the Sr Manager Solution Architecture is accountable for the delivery of architecture and design solutions for projects/initiatives within the assigned portfolio. The role oversees the work of Solution Architecture Managers, including their optimal allocation across projects/initiatives, team demand and capacity management. The role also acts the point of escalation for Project and Initiatives, with regards to the work output of Solution Architecture Managers and provides coaching, feedback and work direction.


Reporting to the Director, Solution Architecture, you will be empowered to:

  • Accountable for the delivery of architecture and design of solutions (from intake to deployment), within assigned portfolio; acts as the main point of escalation for all technology architecture related aspects within proposed and delivered solutions.
  • Oversees team demand and capacity management of Solution Architecture Managers, within the assigned portfolio
  • Partner with Technology Delivery Managers, Enterprise Portfolio Management Office and Business Enablement Directors, to anticipate future allocation for Solution Architecture Managers
  • Oversee the resourcing and optimal allocation of Solution Architecture Managers, within the assigned portfolio, including planning for backup resources for key projects/initiatives
  • Partner with Sr Solution Architecture Managers to determine required skillsets to support the delivery of the solutions related to future product roadmap and encourage a culture of continuous learning within the team
  • Partner with Technology Planning and Performance to ensure that team operates within the designated budget and utilizes the allocated training budget for skills enhancement activities
  • Set team objectives in line with organizational and departmental goals and regularly monitor performance of each team member and take corrective actions and provide guidance as needed
  • Work with team, to ensure delivery schedules and accountability plans committed to for Solution Architecture deliverables are reasonable and achievable
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence, empathy and conflict management skills in managing team members as well as in relationships with peers and members of other teams
  • Be a successful collaborator with peers and seniors across business and technology and adept at conflict resolution amidst conflicting priorities
  • Encourage ideas and feedback from team on ways to optimize and improve work output of Solution Architecture deliverables, specifically in line with agile mindset
  • Attend regular meetings with business stakeholders and business enablement directors to understand upcoming projects/initiatives and plan team resourcing and allocation accordingly
  • Regularly communicate financial and key performance indicators and organizational developments to the team
  • Oversee work output, provide coaching and constructive feedback, when necessary to Solution Architecture Managers as related to the assigned portfolio


Work Experience: Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in leading the design, build and implementation of complex application and technology solutions involving multiple technology areas | Minimum four (4) years of Solution Architecture experience | Proficient in six (6) of the above primary knowledge competency areas as listed above | Minimum five (5) years of providing Subject Matter Expertise to business and IT stakeholder 

Education/ Primary knowledge around: Solution Architecture (SA) architecture styles, architecture patterns, design patterns | Development Life Cycle Methodologies (i.e., agile, waterfall, etc.) | Product and Vendor evaluation | Technology trends – microservices, containerization, Cloud (SaaS/PaaS/IaaS) etc. | Enterprise technology architecture (infrastructure, network, platform, etc.) | Experience acting as a deployment lead for solution architecture implementation | Experience collaborating in cross functional teams
