The Role
This position is a maximum three (3) year term. The successful candidate will rotate between various disciplines within the Accounting Department in order to provide the necessary practical employment experience required by the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program. The successful candidate will report to the applicable manager or supervisor during their time in each discipline.

All fees required by the CPA will be paid for by the Company. The successful applicant will be granted the time to attend necessary professional development, programs and exams as required. The fees to attend such will be paid for by the Company.

Key Deliverables

  • Analyze financial reporting needs and verify related documentation.
  • Prepare working papers to support the accuracy of account balances.
  • Assist in the period end reporting process.
  • Develop explanations on actual to plan variances for certain accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of various forecasts.
  • Assist with certain department duties as assigned.
  • Help with various ad-hoc projects.
  • Gain all of the necessary exposure and skills to meet the required competence expected of an entry-level Chartered Professional Accountant .

Core Competencies and Skills Required

  • Must have a university degree, including the 14 specified courses required by the CPA program.
  • Must complete all other CPA requirements and become a Chartered Professional Accountant within three years of the date of hire.
  • Experience working in a team atmosphere is an asset.
  • Requires excellent communication skills.
