Anyone impacted by the fire are asked to assemble in the GFL Memorial Gardens lobby where staff and the Red Cross are on scene to assist.

"For anyone displaced by the fire and in need of a warm place to go, the GFL Gardens is open and the City welcomes you to head there," said Mayor Christian Provenzano.

"I also want to recognize our first responders and City staff, who have been hard at work for a number of hours. It is important to recognize the efforts of the people who work incredibly hard in service of our community because it can be easy to take for granted that help in often the most challenging of circumstances will be there when we need it."

The City of Sault Ste. Marie thanks residents for their patience and understanding during this time. More details will be provided as they become available.
