Pointe Des Chenes campground, beach and day park will open to the public beginning Friday, June 19 under Stage 2 of Ontario’s re-opening plan.

Pointe Des Chenes campground, beach and day park will open to the public beginning Friday, June 19 under Stage 2 of Ontario’s re-opening plan.

Although permitted to use the campground, campers must adhere to social gathering size restrictions of ten people and maintain two-metre physical distancing with others outside their household and when outside of their campsites. The beach is open subject to further Orders from the Province. Beachgoers must also follow the prescribed guidelines at all times.

“We continue to take guidance from the Province of Ontario as we move between phases. Slowly reopening facilities using a phased approach helps to ensure there are appropriate safety measures in place for our community and limit risks to public health,” says Malcolm White, CAO, City of Sault Ste. Marie.
