Pre-Construction Information Session

The City of Sault Ste Marie has completed a Class Environmental Assessment (EA) and design for the upgrading and replacement of the Fort Creek Aqueduct along Wellington Street West through the Steelton area and anticipates commencing with construction this spring 2018 construction season.

The scope of the project generally includes the replacement of the existing large concrete box culvert along Wellington Street from Carmens Way to St. Andrews Terrace, the replacement of the large diameter storm sewer under St. Georges Avenue from John Street to Wellington Street, increasing stormwater capture capacity within the intersection of John Street and St. Georges Avenue and assocated reservicing of water, sanitary and storm sewer laterals affected by the construction of the large storm sewers.

Consultants and municipal staff will be available to discuss the upcoming construction project, review the design, answer questions, and to get input from the public. To facilitate this, a Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held:
