Woman faces theft, break and enter charges after string of incidents

It is alleged that she committed six offences in a month

On Jan. 9, 2018 officers with the Break and Enter Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 30-year-old Patricia Martin of no fixed address for multiple thefts. 

It is alleged that on Dec. 9, 2017 the accused attended a business in the 400 block of Bay Street where she took $250 cash from the till area and fled the store. Later on Dec. 9, the accused attended a business in the 200 block of Bay Street where she broke in and took approximately $3,800 worth of property and fled the area. 

On Dec. 23, 2017 the accused attended a business in the 200 block of Bay Street where she took a coin dispenser containing just over $200 cash from the counter and fled the area. 

On Jan. 1, 2018 at 5:40 a.m. the accused entered a business in the 200 block of Bay Street while the business was closed. The accused then fled the area when confronted by an employee. 

On Jan. 3, 2018 just before noon, the accused attended a business in the 400 block of Bay Street where she again took a coin dispenser containing $250 cash from the counter and fled the area. 

Officers located the accused on Jan. 9 and she was taken into custody. She has been charged with three counts of theft under $5,000 and two counts of break and enter. She was held for bail court.
