Woman charged with break and enter, possession of stolen property

Accused entered a business located on Bruce Street and stole a cheque valued at $200

On Jan. 2, 2017 officers with the Criminal Investigations Division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 32-year-old Carrie Maki of no fixed address in relation to a break and enter that occurred on Oct. 17, 2016. 

It is alleged that on Oct. 17 the accused entered a business located on Bruce Street in Sault Ste. Marie and stole a cheque valued at $200.

The accused is alleged to have cashed that cheque and received the funds.

Officers completed the investigation and the accused was charged with one count of break and enter and commit the offence of theft, and one count of possession of stolen property.

She will appear in bail court today.
